Why Obama Terrifies Me

Just a short list:

  • Throngs of adoring fans who worship him with almost fanatic zeal, a la Adolf Hitler, Mussolini, Saddam Hussein, Kim Jong Il, Chairman Mao, Fidel Castro and other violent or repressive leaders.
  • Liberal parents brainwash their kids into singing hymns about Obama.
  • The utter lack of substance, or logic in any "solutions" he offers to today's political problems.
  • None of his supporters seem to notice that he can't express himself very well without pre-programmed responses or a teleprompter.
  • His funding sources.
  • The number of groups/communities/individuals he has had to distance himself from in order to keep political traction, and the fact that liberals give him a pass on this (Jeremiah Wright, Trinity United Church, Bill Ayers, ACORN, and others).
  • The fact that he can't do basic math. 40% of Americans already pay nothing in taxes after refunds, yet he wants to give tax cuts to 95% of Americans.

The End of an Error.

This blog was once largely about politics. That is, it was a discourse about politics before my last company put a gag on bloggers on condition of termination if they didn't stop blogging about anything related to the workplace. Since I had more than my fair share of concerns that my blog might lead to my termination, I stopped blogging about politics.

An obvious choice.

And, so it would seem, the apparent death of Daves-Not-Here as a blog.

I tried to convert the blog to a photoblog, but I'm not as prolific a photographer as my equipment would be thought to demand.

That said. I'm shutting down this site at the end of the year.

I may remake this site into something else some day, but for now, I'm just not very motivated to blog anymore.

Nor, for that matter do I have much time.

A Moving Experience

When moving companies give you time lines for making things like actual moving reservations, don't believe them.

For the purposes of this brief observation, I'll call the moving companies that I was primarily involved with MC1 and MC2. I had worked out a walk-thru with both MC1 and MC2 a few weeks ago, and they both advised me to make a reservation three weeks in advance of my move. I informed the representatives from both moving companies that I would not have a final destination address until after June 11th. The reps from both companies were fine with this, and said that wouldn't be a problem since my moving date was June 27th.

Upon my return from Mesa, AZ, and identification of my future residence, I called MC1 and was informed that my rep was no longer an employee, and that arrangement of my move would not be possible due to a lack of carrier capacity during the time frame for my move. Strike one against my move.

Following that let-down, I called the rep from MC2 who set me up for a move date, and I thought the ball was rolling. I thought wrong. The following morning MC2's rep called and informed me that they too had a carrier capacity problem. My options were gone. Strike two for the move.

As a result I am currently waiting for a motorcycle trailer and a U-Haul confirmation in order that I might be able to move to Mesa next weekend.

I still have no definite answers and won't on either until Tuesday. What fun! Ain't life grand?
